It’s difficult to find a beverage you enjoy that wouldn’t pose any potential harm to your teeth. Whether it’s the acidity in fruit juice, or the acidity and high sugar content of soft drinks, finding something to quench your thirst without worrying about your dental health can be a challenge. However, tea lovers may have a reason to celebrate…
Research has found that tea is one of the best drinks for your teeth. This is especially true with green tea, which contains antioxidants called catechins that help to improve oral health.
A study done in Japan found that almost all participants who drank at least one cup of tea a day showed improvement in gum health and reduced gum bleeding.
Keep in mind though, that while black tea is also good for health, it causes staining of the teeth. However, both black tea and green tea can be good for your health as long as you don’t add sugar.
